Book Review: Knit Your Socks on Straight

I received a great surprise in the mail this week – the latest offering from Storey Publishing. Knit Your Socks on Straight: A New and Inventive Technique with Just Two Needles by Alice Curtis is great for knitters new to making socks. This book has great step-by-step photos and easy to understand directions. To me, it has an incredibly important feature – a wire spine so you can lay the entire book flat while you are working.

Alice’s designs are worked from cuff to toe in one flat piece. You then will sew up a hidden seam. The photography in this book is absolutely beautiful! The paper is really nice, which is always a big deal for me. It is obvious the author and publisher put time into making a nice presentation.

The designs are very nice and I absolutely love the yarn selected for each project. My two favorite projects by far at the Garden Trellis Argyle socks and the Moccasocks. The baby socks are of course adorable and every sock pattern has its own special little embellishments.

Overall, if you want to give a try a knitting socks, this is definitely the book! So now I am going to give you a chance to WIN this book. Here is what you need to do:
